Friday's Crabhouse - Friday Harbor

My experience is based on coming here at least once a week as I volunteer on the island. I 'm here early afternoons. Views and audience are great with wonderful relaxed panoramic water views. My orders are quickly filled, staff have always been very friendly and personalize my experience and successfully accommodate my 'specialty ' non-standard changes to my order. I 've bopped around to various eateries within walking distance of the ferries but am comfortable coming back here for their consistent high quality food and service.

View of harbor is pretty. Relaxed, bar-like atmosphere. However, they served my burger first, THEN served our appetizer. So, my husband and I shared the appetizer (assuming his food would come soon . But we waited and waited and I finally ate my burger- so it wouldn 't get cold... my husband still had time (after I finished my burger to use the restroom before his meal came. I think it is RIDICULOUS when restaurants are so disorganized that the party members are served at different times. (After all, you are paying to go our to eat, TOGETHER. So, I wanted to speak with the person in charge and was directed to the owner, Nancy. She was totally unapologetic and even condescending, responding that they were very busy [not true, there were many empty tables when we arrived and were seated IMMEDIATELY], as all the other restaurants at Friday Harbor only take reservations and were full. So, apparently, this is completely normal and acceptable for this restaurant. Nancy made it seem as if we should have been grateful to dine there, regardless of poor restaurant management. My suggestion? Save yourself the mediocre meal and service and go elsewhere on this beautiful island.

Breakfast. Food and service was fine. No issues. Hot food, fast service, good views. Price okay for tourist town.

The grilled halibut was amazing but the coleslaw was not all that great. I also tried the smoked salmon clam chowder, which was extremely good, and the crab cakes, which were not a favorite of mine here. Overall it was a great experience and if I am ever back in town I would happily come again.

Terrible service! Got off ferry to have a beer and they kept telling us to go inside but there wasn’t a bartender or service. We went to outside bar found a seat and was told to get in food line which was 10-12 in line. Left and went next door to Blue Water Bar Grill. Great service and food!
