La Mariniere - Fréjus

A wonderful meal for three generations of the family. The waitresses were obviously busy but were friendly and very pleased with my 11 year old daughters attempts to order in French. The fish soup and the octopus in tomato sauce were real standouts from the meal. We were not rushed and ended up spending three quality hours eating and drinking here. Good food, good portion sizes and a great atmosphere.

Great place to eat in Frejus, food was fresh and very tasty and price was reasonable. Staff were friendly and nice atmosphere.

There is a preponderance of pizza and pasta on the menus of restaurants in Frejus port. However La Mariniere provides a very acceptable alternative. Although those staples are available it also provides good traditional french food at reasonable prices. I had a beautifully cooked 'bleu' Bavette and my wife enjoyed an excellently cooked Cabillaud. The restaurant is popular and was soon fairly full; however the service was very good.

We visited hear on a Sunday night and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant is located in a beautiful setting near the harbour. First if all the menu had a good selection of food from fish to pasta then pizza. They also do 8 set menus which offer a great variety of French cuisine. The starter,main and desserts were all great with lots of flavour and unique dishes.Even though it was really busy the service was good and they also offer English menus if you struggle with French. Overall a fabulous meal on a Sunday night I would highly recommend this restaurant as it's very reasonable for what you get.

Simply not good food....as simple as that.The restaurant is actually well situated on the port and so we thought we'd give it a go on our last night but it was a disappointment. Food was not good - steak was incredibly chewy despite being cooked rare, frites were sparse and cheap tasting, pizza tasted like it was a frozen pizza base and not fresh however rose wine was lovely and well priced. Service was fine but let down by the poor food. Overall would not recommend
