Mission Bbq - Fredericksburg

While the prices may be on the higher side for barbecue, the flavor and quality definitely deserve an A+.

Absolutely the best service I’ve ever had! Brandon at the cash register was fantastic and provided us with detailed recommendations. As we were visiting from out of town, he was patient and open to all our questions. Barbara in the restaurant lobby was amazing as well! She warmly welcomed my coworker and me, sharing information about all the sauces and the restaurant's history. You could really tell she took pride in her work, and her friendliness was a breath of fresh air! To top it off, she even gave us both complimentary strawberry shortcake! Not to mention, the food was incredible!

The barbecue here is fantastic, easily surpassing many of the so-called BBQ spots in the area. However, my main issue is the pricing. For $20, you receive just two small pieces of brisket, two individual rib bones, one small side, and a drink. This price is higher than what you’d find at most full-service restaurants, especially considering the portion size. The BBQ is excellent, but it’s disappointing that the quantity doesn't match the cost.

I had one of the best dining experiences at this restaurant. The waitstaff were incredibly attentive, and the manager recognized that it was my first visit to Mission and kindly offered me a complimentary dessert. The servers also made rounds throughout the dining room, providing samples of the side dishes to guests. The ribs were impressively meaty and tender, and I really enjoyed the spicy barbecue sauce. I appreciated the generous portions of the sides, which is a refreshing change from the small servings you often encounter elsewhere. I highly recommend this restaurant!

The food here is fantastic, particularly the brisket and mac and cheese. The cornbread is also quite tasty. The staff is friendly and seems to genuinely enjoy their work. As someone who grew up in a military family, I really appreciate that they honor our veterans and first responders. I give it a 10/10!
