Backwoods Bbq - Fredericksburg

We've been trying to visit this restaurant for months. I've had ribs from all over the country, but these pork ribs are the best I've ever tasted—even better than my own! Michael and JJ are fantastic! We also tried other items on the menu, all of which were excellent; I have no complaints whatsoever. I can’t wait to return on a Friday for a massive ribeye. I’m so ready! It truly feels like a little slice of heaven on earth. The staff is amazing, and I'm grateful for such a wonderful experience. Thank you!

I often remind the owner, when he and his wife dine at my restaurant in Kerrville, to make sure they don't forget my pasta. I appreciate that they choose to come to my establishment, and I was thrilled to be able to get my pasta as well as my marble cut brisket plate. I'm definitely coming back—keep up the great work!

We were a large group from a few church retreats in San Antonio, and we had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from, including brisket, tri-tip, turkey, ribs, and pork ribs. The service was excellent, and the entire staff, including owner Mike, was friendly and accommodating with our schedule. I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning next time!

I thought Coopers was the best. They beat Coopers. Had the bovine breeze and it was brilliant (the “healthy” version, not marbelized). Had a lot of taste. The green beans were also great.

When your in Fredericksburg, Backwoods is definitely the place to eat at! The food is amazing, the owners are wonderful people, who always greet you with a friendly smile, and sometimes a HUG! Whether your looking for a luxury spot or picnic outdoors, check it out! You will NOT be disappointed. And for those who want great BBQ in Mason, try our own Cooper's BBQ it is the place to go!
