Bidrage med feedbackThe restaurant boasts a great location and a nice atmosphere. However, I was disappointed with the Italian food, especially given the prices. The lasagna was cold in the center, which was off-putting. I ordered gnocchi and requested alfredo sauce instead of marinara, and I was told that would be fine. When the bill arrived, I was surprised to see an extra charge of $6.95 for the alfredo sauce! I feel this fee is excessive and should have been mentioned when I made the request. In all my previous experiences at Italian restaurants, I’ve never been charged extra for such a request, so an added seven dollars seemed outrageous. To make matters worse, the alfredo sauce itself was quite bland and lacked both butter and salt.
The waitress was very busy and kept insisting we order an appetizer. We only received two small pieces of bread and a very tiny salad—about the size of seven forkfuls. The Veal Marsala was served in a bowl and looked more like soup, with just two small pieces of veal. The French fries were hot but definitely undercooked. Overall, this restaurant is highly overrated, which is disappointing.
What can I say? Primo Barones is our favorite place to visit when we're at our cottage. The veal parmesan and linguine with white clams are my two all-time favorite dishes. Their desserts are amazing, as are all the other items on the menu. The hostess, Lydia, is fantastic, and the rest of the staff is wonderful too. My only regret is that I can't get there more often!
It'd been a few years since I was last at this restaurant. It was very good then, and it's very good now. I was here on a Friday afternoon/ evening. The last time I was here I was able to order smaller meals, like sandwiches. I don't know if they still have a lunch menu, but on Friday nights they only serve LARGE entree's. By large, I mean a platter of delicious Italian food! I'm a big eater and I was only able to eat about a third of my meal. The prices are very reasonable, considering the portion size. I gave the restaurant an overall 4, instead of a 5 rating for the lack of smaller meal choices on the menu. Many people flying in can't take a doggy bag with them, resulting in wasting a lot of food. This restaurant is located at an airport terminal but you'll note by the number of customers that it's popular with the locals. You'll also enjoy a great view of the airport ramp area, if you're an aviation buff. I highly recommend this restaurant whether you're flying in or driving you won't be disappointed!
I think that this place really has the potential to be a go to spot in Franklin. So much potential but it really is stuck in the 80’s. Update the place, enough of the airplanes and the glass block, the funky carpet and window treatments. Let’s go! UPDATE the place In something modern and fun. Please change the lighting so that it could be dimmed for the dinner crowd. I felt as though I was eating in an operating room with the bright lights. Get some signature dishes. Maybe a signature drink or two. Your marinara sauce is very good and you should use that to your advantage. I ordered the baked ziti and my guest had the seafood platter. He LOVED the shrimp with crab everything else was very bland. He ate it but that’s because he was hungry. The portion was good. Just very little flavor. My dinner was very very tasty. And it was HUGE. But the menu said BAKED ZITI and clearly this wasn’t baked. It was like spaghetti on a plate only with the ziti ingredients. I was expecting a little crock or something with a nice layer of cheese baked to perfection. Well. No. BUT it was good. I brought most of it home and my husband and I had it for dinner the following evening and I baked it with a good layer of cheese on the top and we both LOVED it. Come on do SOMETHING with what you have there. Make this place something special. Hire a good restaurant manager and a chef and give Bella Cucina a run for the .
