Tex 808 Bbq Brews Waikiki

Had the Big ol Tex chili dog local style was over rice instead of in a bun. It was very good. Person in my group had the taco 's due to us being there on Tuesday, he said they were excellent. Other member of our group had the smoked wings and said they were life changing. The waiter was very good.

I ordered take out and had about a 10min walk back to where was staying.I ordered the followingDip samplerQuarter pound of brisketBurnt ends which also came with mac cheese.Dip sampler none of it was good, guacamole was bland, the queso dip tasted weird, salsa was kinda bland as, then last dip believe a type of fish dip and that was not good either. Chips were also not that great threw all of it away which is always a bummer to do.Brisket was very dry tough to cut and had just tasted bland, I put on one of the BBQ sauces that gave and did not care for the sauce.The burnt ends with mac cheese, did not like the burnt ends sauce it was made with, the mac cheese was just alright but for me was missing some salt.The place looks very nice, staff was friendly but based on the food I had would not order again which kinda sucks when it a great looking place and seemed like good staff but at best average BBQ.I have a overall 2 stars as I rate more on food then anything else.

We tried this place for the first time tonight and we plan to go back before our trip ends. Food was so good and the atmosphere was crazy busy with the NFL games on but was alot of fun. The staff was very friendly and service was great!

I dropped in on Tuesday for brisketI’ve had a tasting for brisket for a couple days I ordered a PBR eventually ordered half pound of brisketWalk back to the hotel, ready to eat.It was dry, brown,no flavor. Needless to say I was so disappointed.So today I stopped by LA brisket dayIt was like night and day differenceDefinitely won’t be going back to Texas 808

Amazing food and great people! We have been in Hawaii for a week and by far the best place we have eaten!
