There's an Ethiopian place in Fort Collins?! You bet. So glad I found this place!! I was lucky enough to score the chicken dish on the night I went, and I tried the vegetable stew as well. All the spices! Perfect for a cold winter warm up. Also, a heaping side of wonderful conversation while waiting for the order... Can't wait to go back!
Decided to try a new food for dinner tonight and ordered takeout from Raska's. It was the best decision I've made all week. We ordered the traditional Ethiopoan chicken and Tedla's delight for dinner. They were both soooo good, everything was hot, fresh and flavorful. But the absolute best part was the coconut brown rice pudding we got for dessert. OMG it was so freaking good. Will be back....tomorrow probably ??
I give three stars to this place. Below are the pros and cons: Pros: 1) The staff are very friendly. 2) The place is nicely decorated. 3) Most of the food is vegan and vegetarian-friendly. 4) Their chocolate cake with coconut cream is like heaven in your mouth!!!! OMG! If you come here, you must try it! 5) The Ethiopian Chai was awesome!!! I just wish they have asked if I want it sweet before sweetening it. Cons: 1) This was the first time I had Ethiopian food. So I don't have any previous experience to compare the food here to. But honestly I didn't like the taste. It was very plain. Ans the food was pricey for what I got. I had some plain boiled red lentils on Injera with some side salad. Maybe the authentic Ethiopian food tastes like this and in that case I have to take my comment back and just say Ethiopian food is not my favorite. The chickpea dish was better but still not my favorite, 2) The Injera was split into random sized pieces that gave me the impression that the food is not fresh. Maybe I am wrong. 3) The sambosa was OLD! It was reheated. It was burnt on the side and some of the stuffing was falling out. I have had sambosa so many times before. This is not how a sambosa should be.
Out this freaking world. Hanna owns the place and puts so much love and wonder into every dish she makes. The food really is outstanding, but her vibe and the love in the place is what makes it a meal worth sharing again and again. I was brought by my friends who related: ?We bring every visiting out of town friend here.?
