Outpost Lake Koshkonong - Fort Atkinson

Just had the best experience at the Outpost! We chose it because it had vegetarian options as well as a fish fry, and we are glad we did. The fish fry, the service and the atmosphere were all great. We had a nice seat by the fire, but I imagine in the warmer months it will be just as nice to sit on the patio and look at the lake.

Delicious Food, attentive friendly staff with a beautiful log cabin style atmosphere. They have weekly specials fun events like, Bingo Meat Raffles. Lots of TV's to watch sports and live entertainment from Bands to Karaoke.

Great Lake bar, feels like a north woods lodge. Fish fry was out of this world good. Great beer selection. Cheese curds are extra squeaky. And the brat fries are unbelievable. Owners are super friendly and make you feel at home even if you are from across the border.

Server was very attentive, drinks good. Food disappointing. Grew up in Wisconsin so was sustained on Friday lake perch. Now live in Chicago so whenever we come back we always seek out lake perch. This could be partly blamed on me for not asking, but being in Wisconsin you just assume when the menu lists perch, it's lake perch. Sadly it is ocean perch here. To the owner, you should label this on the menu, as I'm sure I'm not the first nor the last that will be disappointed by this.

In Wisconsin, when you serve ocean perch instead of lake perch, you need to put that on the menu. Anybody in Wisconsin, in the restaurant business knows this. Consumers know this. What a huge disappointment. Won't be back. So bad it isn't getting a second chance. Server was great! Place looked great!
