Bidrage med feedbackWhen travelling, it is always nice to experience something new & this was definitely the case with Bartatas. The Bartatas themselves are a bit like giant stuffed rostis. They have a large choice of fillings (meat, fish, vegetarian - probably around 30 in total). We had the File Mignon & the Calabresa which were both fantastic. The restaurant itself is in a beautiful spot in the village so you can sit on the balcony & see both the main square and the church whilst dining. The service was excellent too & the price was more than reasonable so no complaints at all!We would definitely recommend!
I visited here in early November. The restaurant is upstairs with a great view of the town, sea and fountains. There was a piano player which was special and the service was friendly. I was impressed that there were vegetarian options on the menu and the wine was good. We had the house speciality which is Bartatas - a rosti. It was very nice. The price was good too. I'd definitely go again!
Bartatas restaurant is a very nice place with a delicious food!!! There's a live piano playing and was very pleasant!!!
If you are on the island after the peak season, this restaurant provides a good alternative. There is a terrace overlooking the old city, which gives a nice colonial atmosphere. You are sheltered even if it is raining. There is piano player: OK although you may want to have a table a bit far from it, as chatting becomes more difficult the closer you are.Service was excellent, although waiters can't speak english (no spanish either). In any case, the lady in charge can speak english, and explain things to you.Food was good, not excellent. They have dishes for two like feijoada of praws. We had the prawn dishes and they were decent. Getting them was a bit long, but you can be sure that they are made on the spot.Had some caipirinhas to wait, you can try the one made with sake and kiwi (excellent). In summary, a good experience.
Had some fish rather than the potato and was delicious. Piano was nice but unfortunately a little out of tune!
