Mallards - Forest Lake

First time here celebrating a friends birthday. The food was very good. We had the coconut shrimp, Korean meatballs, and bread for apps. It would have been nice for the bread to be complimentary since you don’t get much and other reviewers said it was free. For entrees we had the wild mushroom pasta and steak Alfredo, both were excellent. Dessert was pretty ordinary but ok. Service was good and we would go back again.

Tuesday and Wednesday, they offer a crab legs special that's incredible. The only downside is the hardwood seating. The bar seats are cushioned along with 1 dining table and 3 booths. The remainder of dining tables have hard chairs, which are very uncomfortable for my back. I bring a blanket with to sit on. For the high-quality food and menu prices, they definitely need to upgrade to more comfortable seating. With better seating, this would be 5-star for sure!

The staff are very friendly and the food was amazing. The drinks were okay nothing out of the ordinary. Also, our appetizer came out with our food which always annoys me! The patio was nice. The only thing is I wish it wasn’t connected to the apartment building and there was a better view from the patio.

Good food. Fries could be better-very bland. Lobster roll was good but toasted bun would have made it even better. Tennessee hot chicken sandwich could use some cheese but had good flavor. Service was perfect and cute atmosphere. Need much better craft beer selection. Old fashion was good but didn't have a dark cherry like it should. We will go back. Overall Positive experience. Pricing was reasonable for quality of food.

Always prefer to dine at the bar, multiple positive reasons. Lady tending the bar very friendly with immediate cocktail order. Restaurant extremely busy eve of July 4. My wife ordered a cup of soup and a Caesar salad, salad was superb. My choice was the walnut infused walleye, a 5* choice at a reasonable price. Let me be very clear, this was without any doubt the finest/best walleye I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. Having grown up in MN, catching walleye in MN Canada cannot compete, including shore lunches in Canada. Before returning to AZ we will return for round 2 at Mallards, worth every mile! RTinAZ
