Bidrage med feedbackWe had a cup of instant coffee (which they called a crème) and a pot of tea. We asked for two scones and were brought four of the smallest I have ever seen laden with sickly jam and a pot of cream which was sprayed out of a can. The scones were heavy and not properly cooked (probably microwaved). The bill was written on a scrap of paper from a notebook and we were horrified to see it amounted to E17.60. As a former reviewer said it was the worst of British . I am ashamed on their behalf but I don 't think they care one jot.
We were drawn by the quirky exterior whilst driving through the village for some lunch, we had the 12.50 euro 3 course menu. We liked William the brave veteran cat who sat on the kerb watching the world go by near-by . Hadn't realised it was vegetarian, but we had tasty home-made food with thoughtful little touches and were looked after kindly and attentively. Good value for this area, noticed just a quiche and salad up in the square for 9.90 euros. Didn't stop for a hot drink, looked a bit overpriced, strangely, but would certainly recommend, thank you!!
There's a thin line between quirky/ dreadful and between eccentric/rude. This place crossed it.....to the wrong side. Small sandwich of Camembert(?) In dry bread, accompanied by limp lettuce (€4.95). Poor coffee(€3.40!!!!!). Apparently survives on sufficient passing trade. I doubt anyone goes twice.
Looking for an afternoon coffee and pastry, we were attracted by the quirky exterior. Inside was even quirkier, as were the hosts. Our experience can be summed up as Basil Fawltey takes over an English seaside cafe, with the best Franglais spoken. Our cafe creme was minus the creme, and the coffee and there was debate whether a coffee bean featured in the concoction. The chocolate cake, the best tasting part, could not decide whether it was a cake or a mousse. If you want the ultimate bad 1970s English tearoom experience, Chez Teresa is the place to visit!
Good food, maybe some room for improvement. Good for tea and coffee nice view of town. Outside seating can be noisey due to road
