Mela's Cafe And - FLUSHING

Though that was years ago, I’ve explored other Latin restaurants, yet none compare to this one. I always find myself thinking about it when I crave Latin food. I may be white, but I have a deep appreciation for international cuisine, and when it comes to Latin food, Dominican cuisine truly stands out as the best. To summarize, on October 25, 2016, I was craving Latin food. There's a Colombian restaurant near my house, but I found their food disappointing—tiny portions and overpriced. I really miss the taste of Dominican pernil; maybe that's what they need to improve instead of serving dry, overcooked, and bland options. As for my review, this place has undergone a significant transformation. The renovations are beautifully done, and the food bar is a lovely addition. I was thrilled with the portions, especially the pernil I ordered—I can’t help but indulge! The warmth of the staff really adds to the experience. While many restaurants start off strong and then falter, this place has consistently delivered and only continues to improve.

I live in Brooklyn, but I decided to stop by on a whim since I was in the area this morning. It was fantastic! The ambiance was great, the staff was friendly, and the food was absolutely amazing. I had the #mangu, a plantain mash topped with eggs, salami, and cheese, finished off with fried red pepper. It also came with coffee, all at a very reasonable price. I can't wait to go back and try more, but for now, I'm still stuffed!

The food was fabulous, perfectly prepared, and seasoned with freshness. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I absolutely loved the Mofongo! ❤️

I visited melas restaurant to celebrate my mother's birthday!!! We were a family table of 7. Customer service was excellent! And the food was great! I would definitely go there to eat again, it was a cozy atmosphere and the food there was amazing. I can't wait to go back and eat again.

Ive lived in the neighborhood my whole life and out of all the restaurants that have been before Melas cafe I must say Melas is the best and I hope they stay. I love it there. Great food , Great service. They are very friendly and make their customers feel like their part of the family.
