Bidrage med feedbackWe love Maxsells. The atmosphere is wonderful and the view (over the lake) is also. Staff and new owners are very attentive and professional. The menu has great selection and the food is excellent!
Had dinner at Maxsells and not only was the food great our waitress was top notch as well. In addition we also had our daughter's wedding there not only did we have a wonderful view, Sarah and her staff made sure everything was perfect. We also stayed in the guest rooms above the restaurant very clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated.
I have been going to Maxsells off and on for some years, but here 's big news- They have a new chef which is the best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! Haven 't done the research to find out who he is, but big thumbs up. I and my compatriots ordered fish (it was Friday); mine was Sole Muniere (f book doesn 't give me accents to use here). It means in French miller 's daughter I found out- in this case it means dredged and pan fried. It is the first fish I have had in this immediate area that was done to a turn, I can tell you, and seasoned to perfection! So exciting. The vegetable melange was also perfection, though I am not a big fan of the same. As it was a few weeks ago, I am not sure, but carrot, summer squash and corn, I think. The ladies shared a mocha ice cream pie that required some restraint in order to share equitably. The service was in this case a bit clumsy, but I know it is hard for the owner to deal with staffing as it 's seasonal for the most part. All were well meaning and pleasant. It 's not the sort of place you go to if you 're wanting speed and efficiency, so a bit of clumsiness adds to the heartfelt quality of the experience- REAL PEOPLE serving... I have always loved Maxsells as a location. You would go far to find a more lovely place to eat a meal. Knowing the owner a tiny bit, I am aware of the formidable challenge of keeping a classy joint like that operating to its full potential in such a depressed and rural area. I think this chef will do a lot to help, if folks spread the word!
The food was fantastic. I haven't seen mashed potatoes offered on many menu's, and the baby red mashed potatoes here are super. The ribeye was done so well that I actually ate some of the leftovers cold because I didn't want to ruin the flavor of the steak by reheating it. Well done chef. Thanks for the great service. My only disappointment, I have to say, was that I was not fond of their **** Mary's.
Love this place! The staff is as amazing as the food. Will definitely be back.
