Bidrage med feedbackThe staff inside are incredibly friendly and had our order ready in just a minute: a large pulled pork sandwich served with a choice of hot or sweet sauce on the side (we chose hot), along with a side of potato salad, a side of beans, and a small corn muffin. I’m not a barbecue expert, so I can’t really discern the differences between dry and wet styles or the various fan-favorite vinegar sauces, but I can say that everything was delicious. The pork in the sandwich was generous, tender, and juicy, and the sauce, which we added at the table, was just right—spicy but not overpowering, perfectly complementing the sandwich (though I ended up with sauce all over my hands, I didn’t mind licking my fingers clean!). The beans and potato salad were also delightful. The beans were perfectly cooked, with extra bits of pork and a well-balanced sauce. We made sure to scrape the last bits out of the container, savoring the warm corn muffin (only fifty cents each!). The potato salad was exactly how I like it; not too heavy on the mayo, with a nice crunch and a touch of zest—perhaps a hint of Thousand Island dressing? Whatever it was, it was tasty. Satchmo’s also offers catering services and makes ribs on Fridays, which they say sell out quickly. I think we’ll have to give those a try next time!
