Root Public House - Flagstaff

I could make a reservation on Open Table, but when we arrived (2 hours drive from Page, AZ) the restaurant was closed. If you try to call, the phone is separated. Open Table must remove it. Recently Yelp reviews confirm that it is closed. Go over the road to Tinderbox Kitchen.

I loved this place. Unfortunately, it is permanently closed.

Top deck has beautiful views and they had a great two person band. Love the unique cocktails.

We have eaten here before, both in the main restaurant and on the rooftop. We checked out the rooftop this time before deciding to eat downstairs. The rooftop was a bit energetic and more of a bar scene, and we were looking for a quieter experience. It was very quiet downstairs, as we were one of maybe only two or three parties. Our waitress was very attentive, but not intrusive, and we were served at an appropriate pace. The food was outstanding. I had the Barramundi fish. It was well-seasoned and delicious. My husband had the duck, which he also said was delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant seems like an upscale gastropub type, although the waitstaff dress very casually, so you can definitely go casual . We will continue to keep this restaurant on our rotation for a nice night out.

The charcuterie board was one of the best we have ever had. Worth going just for that. All items were excellent and service was very good. Only drawback was that tbere was a broken light and it was very dark. It was also empty on Friday evening which was odd. Very good experience overall!
