Bidrage med feedbackFinally got a chance to try this place out, and it did not disappoint, apart from one thing ... if I have sought out a restaurant that says it does things Viennese-style, and I specifically order a dish with sauerkraut in it, then I probably like sauerkraut! Note to the chef - everyone knows what sauerkraut is these days, and people who don't like it order it. It's one of those dishes you have to order when eating out because your partner won't let you eat it at home. Anyway, with much anticipation, I ordered the pair of Frankfurter with sauerkraut, a Brezel and pea mash, but nearly fell off my chair when the meal arrived. I could count the strands of sauerkraut on one hand, and it had been used purely as a garnish. Forgot to check whether they charged me extra when I asked for more sauerkraut, and even then it was only a couple of mouthfuls. That said, the dish was delicious, and the Brezel was to die for. I liked the tang of capers and a hint of mint in the mash, too. It didn't feel very Viennese, but it sure tasted good. For the price, I want a big dollop of sauerkraut next time, but I will be back, as everything else looked tasty, too, and they deserve to do well.
This place has recently opened taking over from The Green Grocer. They have significantly cleaned the place up along with changing the name.It has been become my regular lunch spot as they offer a range of interesting salads and rolls. There is also a daily special menu if you are looking for proper meal. The coffee is excellent. It's not obvious but there is lovely court yard in rear. An great spot on a sunny day.
