Gutz Cafe - Fitzroy

It is a bakery/cafe that only opens at daytime hours (usually close by 3pm, I think). I came here often when living on the same street just a few blocks away. Usually it is a good place for both breakfast and lunch. While their sandwiches are all right, I especially like their bagel-like "simit" with cheese (a Turkish specialty, since owners are originally from Turkey)They do offers free Wi Fi for paying customers. However, it is usually not very reliable. If you do not need to use Wi Fi, this is indeed a good place in the neighborhood for coffee and breakfast/quick lunch.

There is a range of options for breakfast served all day. The rest of the menu gives different choices but you can find a nice meal whatever you fancy.The waitresses were particularly friendly and the meals and coffee both arrived quite quickly. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely Turkish breaky. Gorgeous greek mama service. Great after a big night, all that is good about Melbourne.

Stopped to have breakfast on a morning walk through Fitzroy. Nice friendly welcome and good breakfast and coffee at reasonable prices. Observed that this is a local community hub with staff who welcome their locals and bring everyone together.

We were moderately hungry at lunchtime. This place was perfect. We shared a Mediterranean focaccia and a carrot cake. Both were wonderful! Had a cappuccino each and they were great. Funky atmosphere and very good prices. Perfect for us!
