Cave Du Roy - FIRENZUOLA

After a 150 km bicycle ride on the 1st of June 2017 I by chance found Ristorante Albergo La Rocca in Firenzuola. The hosting family is lovely! The room was perfect and the whole building has a very comforting atmosphere. The best of all was a steak with Porcini with a glas of the house wine and in the morning a breakfast fit for a very noble man. And all that for extremely reasonable prices. Wonderful!!!! Thank you very much!!!!

We were staying 1km outside of Firenzuola for 4 nights and we ate at Albergo La Rocca 4 times, after greatly enjoying the first experience. We also noticed that more people form our hotel kept returning here too, after they had tried another location their first night. We ate outside, next to the local town square, and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, house wine, and dinner menu.

I was touring this somewhat remote area near the border of Tuscany and Emiglia-Romana and decided I needed a bite to eat, so I stopped in Firenzuola, which is the only sizeable village along my route. I chose this place pretty much at random, and I was glad I did. My dish was some sort of pasta which looked like ravioli, but was called something else. The pasta were stuffed with a very tasty potato filling and served in a nice ragu. The portion was generous and the price reasonable.
