Blinked by five stars, but the kindness and sympathy of the boy who served me deserve 7!
Well if you have to make a ranking of the best lampredotto di firenze, from orazio you definitely eat one of the first classified. the sauces all made in the house, are delicious and the bread always on the right. I'm going there a lot if I work. Test!
We had a really bad experience eating here! It was impossible to eat my tripe Sandwich- the bread wasnt eatable, and it was soaked in a tastless sauce.
If you like Mexican menudo , you can handle the tripe sandwich! I thought lampredotto was cow uterus, but I had to try that too after hearing about it from Andrew Zimmer of Bizarre Foods TV show. I 'm still not sure what part of the cow it is. Hey, I 'd have either one again. I ordered in my very basic Italian, and the couple working at the kiosk were patient and polite although very busy fulfilling all the other orders while I sat at the side of their food kiosk, waiting for the tripe to finish steaming. They apparently aren 't open on Sundays, so I was lucky to find them at noon on a weekday. I smothered both sandwiches in optional red Sri Raka Thai hot sauce just like they have in the USA. Not a bad idea if you are a little bit chicken, to try, but even without it, I 'd have liked the organ sandwiches and now I 'm kinda craving those weird sandwiches on crusty white loaves, which are so traditionally Florentine! The atmosphere was fun, authentic and laid back...just hungry Italians awaiting their traditional quick lunch treats while passers-by went on about daily city life in a tiny but very ancient square very near Dante 's house and museum...how great a memory was that!. I saved the lampredotto sandwich in foil for the late afternoon flight back to London. Yummy! Better than anything Brit Airways could have thought up to serve!
