Bidrage med feedbackThis hidden, idyllic cafe has a beautiful small lake for a view and a clean, modern real-estate atmosphere. The service is amazing and the food prompt. The taste of the food is, above average, although not to die for (but now I’m just nitpicking). The chickizo salad has double protein! But the dressing was quite sour. The chilli eggs were amazing and the French toast a typical classic. The menu is only slightly unique but the weekly specials definitely up the ante. The makers of The Weston Eatery have once again, brought us another unique and memorable lunch!
The chicken strips/cuts and vegetables blended great together, it tasted clean and was not heavily sauced. The juices were cold pressed, which was definitely refreshing. The highlight, that I really want to go back for, is their french toast...<br/ <br/ P: purplecuriosity.wordpress.com/2019/10/29/10458/
Two By Four Cafe feels like a totally hidden local gem. It can be found within Fairwater Sales and Display Centre and is an incredibly peaceful place overlooking a little lake. I absolutely loved the weekend specials, both the corn fritters and the lamb burger. The fritters were so delicious with the genius addition of sweet potato, a beautifully runny poached egg and a brilliant crunch. I haven’t had a brunch dish in ages that has blown me away like this one did. The 2x4 bowl was less exciting as it really needed a dressing to tie it all together, but it's a great option for the healthy. As for the classics, the french toast and benny english were lovely, and I really enjoyed the sweet dish and the heavenly smoked salmon with the poached eggs.<br/ <br/ I had a thoroughly good time enjoying all the food here, and I also love how comparably affordable and reasonable it is compared to other places. Definitely would recommend Two By Four as a super pleasant and enjoyable brunch spot!
Bringing some class and elegance to the western suburbs, Two By Four Café is situated along the water and shares its home with a display centre in the Fairwater building.<br/ <br/ Weekend specials for the next two weeks are the Lamb Burger and Corn Fritters. Seriously amazing flavours, especially the corn fritters which also had sweet potato through mixed in. Lamb Burger had soft brioche buns and a chilli aioli to accentuate the lamb patty. You also can’t go wrong with a side of thick, crispy beer battered chips and tomato sauce.<br/ <br/ The Frenchie was stunning on the plate and I absolutely loved the taste. Little pat clusters were a nice surprise, adding crunch and nuttiness to counter the sweetness of the seasonal fruit and maple syrup. Benny English with Smoked Salmon was another classic on the menu and I was super impressed with the house made hollandaise sauce. Smokey paprika created more dimension in the dish alongside that beautiful smoked salmon. Presentation of the 2x4 Bowl with Marinated Grilled Chicken was well thought out with the colour of each element popping against the black of the bowl. I did feel though that the bowl needed more vinaigrette to unify the dish and add more flavour.<br/ <br/ Cold pressed juices were cool, refreshing and absolutely adorable served in mason jars. There was also a wide selection of hot drinks including the Green Rose Tea which smelled like roses but had a mild green tea flavour. Coffee art was bomb and mocha taste was strong.<br/ <br/ If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!<br/ <br/ My thanks to Two By Four Café for the invite.
A hidden gem! This cafe is now my “go to” when I’m in the area. <br/ <br/ I was very surprised when I stumbled upon Two By Four. It isn’t your typical cafe it is quite small and situated inside what appears to be a development centre. It doesn’t try too hard with rustic decor and an elaborate menu it simply does the basics right! <br/ <br/ Very competitive pricing for cafe food. Highlights were the ‘BAE’ and the Granola. The coffee here is one of the better spots in the west (Double Roasters Marrickville). Definitely coming back!
