Bidrage med feedbackMy Family have been enjoying Chinese food from this favourite local for many years. Inside always looks quiet but if you are looking for reasonably priced, good local Chinese food, then this does the job. There is absolutely nothing glamourous about the interior decor but the owners always give friendly service and our takeaway is ready in 10-15 minutes. We have eaten in on occasion but usually do take away which we pick up ourselves. Our general staple takeaway is usually the fried rice, san choy bow and chicken and vegetables. We have always enjoyed the meal!
Moved into the area and needed to find a new Chinese takeaway. We loved our old place for 7 years but Golden Palace is tastier, feels healthier and very good value. Staff are friendly and easy to communicate with. Looking forward to the next 7 years here.
I checked out this place based on the clientele I witnessed frequenting the place. All appeared to be of Asian back ground. I took my date to dinner here and she was well impressed. I love a good Chinese spread and the eatery was nice as well...ha ha. No seriously its a great place for a nice Chinese meal.
Since my favourite Chinese restaurant closed, I've been hunting for another place that has just the right flavours I like. And I've finally found it, even though it doesn't look like much from the street it looks a little slow and quiet, but admittedly it's 8pm on a Wednesday night. Here's what it has going for it: *The prawn chips had the right flavour. These things are either divine, or soul crushingly disappointing; *Everything was delicious; fried rice, Singapore noodles, chicken with black beans, crispy skin chicken (drunken/ Shantung chicken which could have had more sauce but this is a minor point), and the steak with Peking sauce (which I thought would be rainbow shredded steak my fault, but flavour was delicious nonetheless); *The takeaway containers were given to me in a cardboard box. It's challenging getting this stuff home without a mess when it's all in a single plastic bag, so it was glorious to have a study box that was once used for tetrapacs of skim UHT milk. Call it suburban charm. *THEY TAKE CARDS. In the second decade of the 21st Century, its stunning that so many places do cash only. And in the middle of a suburban street, I wouldn't want to go hunting for a lonely ATM, or remember to have to bring cash. *Friendly service. Oh, this goes such a long way. *Prices for mains range between $13 19. So no amazing bargains, but it's reasonable. *My partner loves Schweppes lemonade, which only came in a 1.2 litre bottle the cans were all Sprite. But it's not a big deal for takeaway. Plus I prefer Sunkist over Fanta, so I was fine to grab my own bottle rather than a can. I know soft drinks aren't good, but why split hairs when you're eating takeaway? Finding a good, suburban Chinese restaurant seems to be increasingly challenging in the inner south as the number of Thai places increases. Hopefully this review helps if that's what you're looking for.
Our local go-to Chinese takeaway. We love the food. Very old fashioned basic restaurant. Delivery is always fast and free for orders over $35.
