Bidrage med feedbackThe best donuts and the more likely I have tried to do so today. I was in many apple mills in michigan and none of them compare with Spicer’s. I love to go with my family here in autumn. in the august they have a huge sunflower patch that is beautiful.
The donuts inside are we're good. They had a really nice play place for the kids to play. For some of the rides you need to purchase tickets. They had some farm animals. There was a train ride that took you around the orchard. They do take credit cards. The cider and donut line moved extremely fast!
Firstly, these are some of the best donuts I've had in Michigan. I really appreciate how they have multiple options such as powdered, cinnamon sugar and plain. Most cider mills in the area only serve plain or cinnamon. I also noticed they have gluten free and vegan donuts. The cider I had was very good. Spicer's is conveniently located right off the highway. Parking is in a dirt lot on the property which is not necessarily ideal. The only concern complaint I have is the questionable treatment of the farm animals. I noticed there was one large area for goats and another separately caged area that housed a baby cow, a wild turkey, a donkey, and another goat. It was really confusing to me and maybe suspiciously unethical. The animals seemed pretty clean and fed but I would probably prefer to see them in their own species specific cages for their own well being.
This place was great for our 3yo. There's a huge play area for kids both 2 5 and 5 . Lots of farm animals, including a barn with an incredible elevated walkway for the goats. The giant tube slides were a favorite. The donuts were fresh and still warm and were the best I've had at any farm. Apple slushies were tasty and induced quite the brain freeze. There was also apple and pumpkin picking, both of which looked good but we didn't have time. Would definitely come back.
We enjoyed our stop at Spicer's Winery. We tried their Pick 4 flight options. My selections were Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carriage Dry red. All were pretty good. We also ordered their pretzel bits which were delicious. The staff is very friendly. Nice tasting room.
