Bidrage med feedbackI used to really enjoy the Press Club; it was a refreshing addition to FarmVille. However, I’ve noticed that the quality has declined over time. I don’t want to blame the servers or chefs, as they’re already underpaid and just trying to do their jobs, but the food quality has taken a significant hit. It seems to have dropped from a standard of excellence to that of Applebee's. Typically, I would overlook minor issues, but this has been a consistent problem during my recent visits. I’ve experienced food served on dirty plates, unwashed vegetables, and random fruit tossed in without consideration. Fortunately, I’m not allergic to anything, or that would have been quite a shock. It’s disappointing to see another establishment in town settling for the subpar standards that seem to be pervasive in FarmVille.
There’s nothing more frustrating than visiting a highly-rated restaurant while feeling hungry and thirsty, only to be completely ignored by the hostesses and staff. I was seated right next to the band’s amp and guitar cases, and not a single waiter or waitress came to take my order. After sitting there for 22 minutes feeling silly, I decided to leave. This place is seriously overrated.
The ambiance strikes a great balance between industrial and rustic, mixing old and new elements, all enhanced by charming Southern decor. There's a separate bar area, slightly elevated and separated from the main dining space, which features plenty of seating and large screens. This setup ensures that all types of guests—whether couples enjoying a sit-down meal or singles looking to socialize over drinks and a game—can find their comfort without disturbing each other's experience. The menu is well-structured, occupying one full side of a single sheet, with a variety of options that feel just right—ample without being overwhelming. It includes a solid selection of appetizers, entrees, and even homemade desserts. We began our meal with the Hummus Plate, which was light, refreshing, and incredibly flavorful. It was just what we needed after being out in the bright sun and warm air. As a burger enthusiast, I usually know my choice within seconds of looking at a menu, but here I found three burgers that piqued my interest. A special thanks to our server, Adam C, for recommending the A.W. Merrick Burger, showcasing his excellent customer service skills. This burger featured a perfectly grilled patty, savory cheese, barbecue sauce, homemade fried onion straws, bacon, and fresh diced jalapeño, creating a delicious lunch experience. My wife ordered the Pad Thai with grilled chicken, which was outstanding, and my daughter enjoyed a fantastic BLT served on Texas toast. The fries were hot and crispy, while the waffle fries were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The kimchi slaw accompanying the Pad Thai was a delightful fusion of flavors. Overall, everything was exceptional. We will definitely be returning in the future!
Located just a few blocks from downtown, we found this really cool restaurant. Beautiful open space, with the bar on the second level. It was nice having an enjoyable lunch overlooking the restaurant below. So open and inviting. Unfortunately it was too hot to sit outside, but there was more space to enjoy a meal and drink. Highly recommended. Check out this place.
I stopped by this place for lunch while on business at the University. Food was fresh and delicious (we ordered the Gyro Tacos and Philly Wrap). Nice selection of items on menu for food and drinks.Great place to catch a meal while you're passing through the area, visiting Farmville or Longwood University. Cool atmosphere and friendly staff.I would definitely recommend checking this spot out if you have an opportunity.
