Grist Mill - Farmington

If you're thinking about a night out, I would suggest this restaurant over Foxwoods. We tried three dishes, and while two were quite enjoyable, one was unfortunately disappointing. When the Italian dishes are prepared correctly, they can be truly delightful. The restaurant has a charming atmosphere, perfect for a romantic dinner by the water. The staff is friendly and attentive, and we've never had to wait long for a table, which is definitely a plus. The drink portions are generous and reasonably priced. When they get it right, the drinks are fantastic, though there have been times when they didn't quite hit the mark, which can be frustrating. For example, I ordered a medium steak, but it came out burnt on the outside and rare on the inside. When we returned it, we were told that's how they grill it and it couldn't be changed. We were surprised, as they usually do a good job with steak. On that same visit, we also expressed concerns about the freshness of the oysters on the half-shell, and two of the four of us ended up feeling unwell later that evening. I would recommend visiting only on Fridays or Saturdays.
