The Park Gate Tandoori - Fareham

Our first visit here, 7 of us for a celebration. All the food was outstanding, service good, surroundings nice. It was a bit quiet, but that suited us. Compliments to the chef, we will definitely return.

I visited the restaurant on Saturday, October 22nd to pick up a takeaway order for 4 people. I had informed them that I would collect it an hour later. The order included onion bhajis, 3 biryanis, and 1 chicken tikka masala. When I arrived at the restaurant, I had to wait for 5 minutes before the order was ready, which was not a problem. However, upon opening the bag, we found that the onion bhajis were inedible, tasting like dry dough balls with no onion flavor. The biryanis, especially the house special which cost more, were also disappointing. The rice was dry and lacked individual meat flavors, causing the three biryani eaters to barely touch their meals. This was the worst Indian takeaway I have ever had. It seemed like the meal had been cooked when ordered and reheated when we picked it up, despite us specifying a later collection time. We have decided not to return to this restaurant again.

We went to the restaurant with our friends for the first time and had a fabulous evening. Our first impressions were very positive, as the place was clean and stylish with a nice downstairs bar. The drink selection was great, with many fantastic wine options. The staff, especially Chris, were amazing - attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious, with excellent naan bread. We tried several different curries, all of which were excellent, including the lamb pathia.

The food at this restaurant is fantastic, the decor is modern and stylish, and the service is excellent. The menu is amazing, especially the chicken tikka pathia. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you.
