Sainsbury's Cafe - Fareham

After finishing our grocery shopping, we decided to grab a drink at the cafe before meeting up with friends. Unfortunately, there was only one staff member working the counter, taking orders, making drinks, and handling payments. The service was extremely slow. A customer ahead of us voiced their frustration and another asked if they were busy, only to be told that it was very quiet, which was hard to believe given the slow service. Although the drinks were decent, we only ordered a tea and coffee as the food on display did not look very appetizing.

This restaurant does not meet the typical standard of most Sainsbury cafes. The portion of fish was small, the peas tasted like they were not fresh, and the chips were overcooked on the outside and undercooked in the middle. Sainsbury, you can do better than this!

We decided to order the halloumi breakfast at this restaurant because we had enjoyed it there in the past. However, when we entered, we were disappointed to see dirty tables with stacked dishes on them. The food we received was cold and did not come with the hash browns that were advertised. Surprisingly, two managers were seated at a table right behind us, seemingly ignoring the state of the restaurant. We will not be returning, as it felt like a total rip off.

Having stopped off at this store as we were staying in this area for some shopping decided to try their cafe, ordered Sausages and Mash and Hunters Chicken. When it came out to our table on initial looked good but when we started to eat it the meals were lukewarm the mash in my dinner was tastless and my husband's hunters chicken was all dried up even the chips were cold. Best thing was the hot tea. If you are going to serve hot meals then you should make sure they are hot and not dried out by reheating in a microwave. Afraid it is something across the board with most of Sainsburys restaurants we and others have found.SO COME ON SAINSBURYS GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER

Went for lunch with my mum and small daughter on a Friday. Trays were all wet and dripping, having just been washed (I hope). The only fruit available in the children’s section was a mouldy apple. It took 10 minutes to get served even though there was only 1 person in front of us in the queue. He did order 2 hot drinks (and only that) but why they took so long for the elderly lady behind the counter to prepare, I have no idea. We ordered our food and waited... and waited.... when we spoke to a staff member they said ‘well that’s because there is a half an hour wait on food’. We hadn’t been told about that to begin with and, bearing in mind there were about 4 other groups of people in the cafe at the time, there was no earthly reason why 2 x fish and chips and 1 x fish fingers would take so long. They still managed to bring the wrong children’s meal and argued the toss when we informed them of such. To add insult to injury, the tea was cold and they had no milk jugs so gave us the milk in a cup .... cue spillage!! Never again!
