Bidrage med feedbackMet up with some friends after work for the happy hour. I was drinking the Widmer, which was a lot cheaper than I'm used to around here. We tried a couple of the different tapas items on the menu, and all were really good. I had the mussels in curry sauce, which were awesome, and tried some of my friend's grilled shrimp. Those were really good too. Some of my friends had the sushi also. They said it was great.
After a visit to another local restaurant didn 't pan out, my brain raced to think of an alternative. What the he 's place called? Huong something? Hoang...ugh, I don 't but it 's right down the road. Off we went. Hoang 's is located on the ground floor of one of the Falls Church 's downtown revitalization building hopefuls. I think it 's supposed to be very urban. Bamboo decorations and rock walls. Hoang 's does look like a pretty clean outfit. And the interior has lots of atmosphere. Modern, but softened by draperies and calm tones. There is also a nice, modestly-sized bar with a flat screen tv. I snuck a spare rib from my friend 's appetizer plate. Tender, lean meat and a succulent teriyaki sauce. I was impressed. I ordered the Atlantic Grilled Salmon-good choice! It arrived with a small portion of very fresh vegetables and dinner salad, and rice. The salad dressing was delicious house vinaigrette. If I can find out the recipe to this bright refreshing vinaigrette, I 'll pour it on everything. The rice was perfect and the salmon was terrific. The grilled salmon fillet was expertly prepared, and lightly coated with the restaurant 's flavorful teriyaki. Dessert? Oh yes, please. My fried banana with coconut ice cream arrived with careful attention to presentation and a creamy, coconut whip on the side-you know, just for fun. Woo! To be fair, I have a SUPER sweet tooth. The sweeter, the better. It was a bit lightweight on sweetness for me, but I suspect it might be just right for others. Love the food! I had one of the more expensive entrees and desserts, and I believe my bill was around $25. It seems you can have a wonderful dinner for under $20 though. I 'd be happy to return. Happy Dining!
