Douro Steakhouse - Fall River

The first time we went there it was nice. We went there a second time on the 16th and was so disappointed that the entire restaurant smelled like smoke. The cigar bar smoke has now permeated throughout all the floors of the building. No one wants to sit in a restaurant where your eyes are burning from all the smoke in the room. We will never go back.

I ordered the bacalhau assado. Unfortunately it lacked all flavor, which is hard to do with a salted cod dish. The sautéed onions and peppers over the fish were also very bland. The entire dish lacked seasoning and there was no garlic at all. Two of my other companions said the Portuguese Steak was just average. Very few round fries were given and again no garlic. The white rice was bland. My sister ordered the espetada madeirence but she said it was much better the last time she was there. I forget what my other sister ordered but she said it was only average. My sister's boyfriend ordered a pasta/seafood dish and he said it was very good. So one meal out of six was excellent. The food wasn't bad (except for the cod fish) but considering you folks are on the higher priced side it should be better.

Food is tremendous. Had one of the best pieces of steak in my life! No exaggeration. If I wasn’t sitting right under the speaker, it would’ve been one of the most perfect restaurant experiences ever.

So disappointed with our dinner tonight. My husband and I both ordered the ribeye, he ordered it with the stuffed lobster tail special $40 $55). Steaks were ordered medium rare and were served cold, barely seared. Chips were cold, mashed potatoes as well as veggies were not heated through. Salad was served with dinner vs before. The restaurants ambiance was nice, beautiful decor and our waiter was nice enough, the restaurant was maybe a quarter full on a Friday evening at 6:30. To top off the evening we were followed to our vehicle by a few of Fall Rivers finest citizens solicited for money.. we will not return nor recommend Douro steakhouse.

We had a great time and the food was amazing! Service was also amazing!
