Donnelly's Public House - FAIRPORT

This restaurant holds a special significance for me as it's where I had my first date with my husband. It's a charming little place! The only reason I didn't give it a full five stars is that, as a vegetarian, I find the menu options to be somewhat limited. They offer a veggie burger, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas, sides, nachos, and salads. Unfortunately, all the salads include meat, so I typically order the Asian Chicken Salad and ask for the chicken to be removed. It's really delicious! However, they don't reduce the price if you request the meat to be left off, which is fine since I usually give it to someone else at the table. That's just my personal choice, so I won't hold that against them.

Everything on the menu was outstanding. We had a group of 17 dining outside, and although I can’t remember our waitress’s name, she was incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was fresh and generous in portion sizes. They also offered a great selection of IPAs. As we were all visiting from out of town, it was the perfect way to wrap up our weekend. Thank you!

I visited this restaurant today for my birthday and ordered The Ed B sandwich. Unfortunately, the beef was green and iridescent, and the sandwich was cold. I only managed to take two bites. When the waitress returned, I mentioned the issue. She took the plate to the kitchen and assured me they would take it off the bill. However, she returned without the sandwich and told us that the kitchen claimed the beef was fine and that they couldn’t remove the charge since there was supposedly no issue with how it was prepared. When the bill came, we were still charged for the sandwich we didn’t even receive. There was no offer to replace the dish or anything similar. I could have at least enjoyed a side of coleslaw for $15. When we inquired about removing the charge, the waitress said the kitchen wouldn’t allow it because they saw no problem with the food. It’s simply unacceptable to charge customers for items they never received. What a disappointing way to spend my birthday. I will never return.

Awesome food and atmosphere! We loved the homemade BBQ sauce and French fries (recommended getting the cheese with them)!! Shoutout to Steven for being an awesome waiter! Him and the staff were friendly and very personable.

Aimee, Was such a Treat for two travelers from Lancaster, We Loved everything about this place, I?m a chef and not one thing was out of place Here, everything was so delicious, if you?re like us and on the Erie Canal Adventures boats and have one place tostop, choose Here! You have to ask for Aimee the server Owner, she will make your visit so special, She did ours with the verybest recommendations, The Buffalo chicken salad was spectacular, The Cheese sauce (mornay) was unbelievable, the tots were thebest bargain for what seemed like the hundreds you got! Ask for them with the cheese sauce you can?t go wrong! The wings lookedlike Turkey legs, the Burgers appeared perfectly seared, large sizes all around, This will be one of those places that we won?tsoon forget and will measure every other pub style Faire by, They set the bar unbelievably high, Such a Gorgeous memory of thisplace will always remain in my Heart because of the kind Service, phenomenal food, and awesome atmosphere out on the patio,Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Thank you again Aimee, for making our Visit Something we won?t soon forget, You?re exactly thebest kind of steward the restaurant business needs and so seldom finds, not to mention community Ambassador right in Yourcentrally located spot for a community like Fairport, Who won?t be forgotten, because of the special people like you and yourhusband who?ve dedicated their lives and time to a place public like this who I hope keeps you successfully in business for avery, very long time, because Not only are You doing something special every single day for the people who remain Here, but alsofor the people like myself who because of you and your Restaurant, can?t wait to come back!
