It was good to have a snak 11pm in this area. we took it away and enjoy with wine. homemade fish, crispy and yammy. very much enjoyed at only 6$ ! :

Honestly the worst fish and chips. Wish I had gone to the Chinese across the road. Overpriced, limited selection. His 'scoop ' of chip fitted in a pie bag. I certainly was a little concerned when I heard the beep of a microwave out the back. Stay away !

Pros: Great location. Cons: 1. The smoke inside was overwhelming. I kept coughing, and my wife ended up with a sore throat. Solution: Please use a fan; it's not good for your health! 2. It was really cold inside; I wished I had brought my gloves. However, if I had them on, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy my burger. I ended up taking it back to the hotel because it was just too cold. Solution: Turn on the heater! Are you trying to cut costs? The heater was off, and it was freezing. 3. The burger was missing vegetables. Solution: It definitely needs beetroot. Seriously, you're local, and you don’t know that beetroot belongs on burgers here? Wishing you luck with your business; it just needs a few tweaks. Oh, and maybe consider increasing the portion sizes. That serving wasn’t really enough.

I've never encountered such an unbelievably unfriendly server in a restaurant in New Zealand. It's baffling that he works in the hospitality industry when he clearly doesn’t want to be pleasant to the guests! The food was just mediocre. The city was bustling, yet we were the only ones in this restaurant... I won't be returning.

The appearance may not be appealing, but this chippy serves up some quality food. The prices are reasonable, with chips priced at just $3! The burgers are served hot and fresh, featuring crisp lettuce and onion. Absolutely delicious! However, the establishment could benefit from some improvements in ambiance—perhaps some decor to make it feel more inviting, some background music, and better uniforms for the staff instead of worn-out grey t-shirts. It's a bit unsettling when you can't see the kitchen in a chippy! A friendly greeting as customers enter would encourage them to stay and order, rather than just standing there in silence. The dining area has a nice rustic feel, decorated with plenty of wood and an unusual but pleasant carpet for a chippy. Lastly, it would be helpful if they included at least one napkin with orders for squid rings or burgers.
