Down By The Bay Cafe - Fairhope

We're here for lunch-Father's Day. Had bowl seafood gumbo. Strong Roux taste with lots of Okra, Shrimp tomatoes. Very good! Wife I ordered Shrimp Plate. Came with plenty of fresh delicious plump shrimp, hush puppies one side. We chose Fried Okra. Delicious! Atmosphere was cool casual with great views of Fairhope Pier Mobile Bay. We will return to this small picturesque place!

This is a really relaxed place. You do not have a bar, but you can bring your own drink and they will deliver glasses without cork fee. The menu is quite simple. Everything will be prepared for order so that you may wait a little longer until your meal appears, but this gives you the chance to see the wonderful scene of Fairhope Pier and Mobile Bay. We usually go for dinner and enjoy the sunsets. The lunch menu is easily reduced to prices if you prefer to pay less for the same sandwiches. You're generous with pages. We like to order a vegetable plate from four vegetable sides.

OMG Amazing Food!. We found this little jewel when visiting the family. They were there before they shaved over seafood. We ordered the fried shrimp oysters. The bread was slightly fluffy, the shrimp oysters were so fresh. I also had the fried Okra, which was delicious obviously homemade. My husband had Pomme's onion rings. The rings were cute. The owners are Donna Wayne Watson. Her son Cameron was our server. We met Donna too. We've learned that she's doing everything from scratch so that waiting can take a long time. But believe me, it's worth waiting. Best wishes, Donna Wayne, for further success! We'll come back when we're in town!

Everyone misses. I have been eating in this wonderful little restaurant for over 15 years and I must say that Donna is a big cook and everything is FRESH! What amazes me is that nobody commented on their world class onion rings! I literally ate onion rings all over the world and no comparison. Sweet onion with a bread to die for fried to perfection with a touch of Ranch Dressing and you are in heaven.

Nice family run establishment. Drop in and enjoy the view of Mobile bay from the deck. This family run diner serves meals the remind you of mom's home cooking, the pot roast is tasty.
