Le Mahogany - Faaa

A fantastic place for French cuisine! we were picked up from the restaurant from our hotel and our driver was on time (like everything else on this island). I was looking for a place that served poisson cru that was not made with thunfisch, and this place had made a version with garnel, and it was the best poisson cru I had far in French Polynesia: for net we had the garnelen curry and the duck. Both were made perfect and absolutely delicious! the chef knows his eating really. ends with the Nougat ice cream. when we left, it was packed. oh, and the president has eaten here in the evening, while we were there, what kind of cool :

Make sure you make a reservation in advance because the restaurant might get busy during dinner hours and there might be a little wait. With that said. The mussels were the best I’ve had. Ever. Filet Mignon was amazing. Mahi Mahi with coconut milk was cooked to perfection. Strongly recommend Le Mahogany. If your looking for a local restaurant that will tie the beauty of Moorea and local dining together this is the place.

Great dinner venue with a very woody design (surprise! . Had an excellent steak with blue cheese sauce and puff pastry scallop and shrimp along with superb red wine

This place was pretty good, although you may need to be more aggressive with the service. hot inside but worth the sweat. we ordered: lobster bisque (was the special, but my date didn’t like it) french onion soup pretty yummy garlic shrimp pretty yummy too. came with green beans and rice. ice cream chocolate and coconut. so good. and rose!

The waitress sat us down with menus then we waited exactly 22 minutes and no one came over, we got up and left. Didn’t even get water or even have a chance to order drinks or food. It’s a Monday night they were some what busy, but they kept on letting new guests sit when they couldn’t even take care of the ones they just sat. One other waitress was cleaning up a table of 6 that just left. Why would she clean up a dirty table instead of coming over to our table to take our orders? Ridiculous. We left to Rudy’s instead and did not regret it.
