Nandos Chickenland - Exeter

I absolutely adore this restaurant! This was my first time trying Nando's here, and it quickly became one of my go-to spots. As an American, I know I will miss this place when I go back home. Initially, as a pescatarian, I wasn't sure if they would have many options for me, given that it is known for its chicken, but they actually have a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options. Their broccolini is especially delicious! I also can't get enough of their peri peri seasoning and sauces – they go well on everything. The chocolate cake is outstanding, with a decadent chocolate ganache replacing the frosting, and it's served with a side of rich heavy cream.

We were seated by a waiter who explained how to order. After ordering, our drinks were refilled and glasses were placed on the table without any communication. We were not informed of the drink station or drink options. Our food was delivered silently and we were not asked if we needed any condiments. Cutlery and napkins were not provided and we had to search for them ourselves. Overall, the service was terrible and we do not plan on returning, especially with so much competition in the area. COVID cannot be an excuse for poor service.

The entire experience was more stressful than enjoyable. We had to wait outside because there weren't enough staff to open on time, and once inside, we were directed to an online ordering system that lacked any personal customer service. It felt like we were just another number in a system focused on speed and efficiency rather than creating a pleasant dining experience. This felt more like a fast-food operation than a restaurant, with a focus on getting customers in and out as quickly as possible. If you're looking for a relaxing meal, I wouldn't recommend this place.

This young man conor was amazing in his work. he greeted us politely and served us all night and was ready to do everything to make our night as good as possible. the food was amazing and had a lot of taste and flavor to brighten my life. thanks again. conor, you were really the best. will definitely come back
