Epoch Gastropub - Exeter

I took my mother and family for Mothers day brunch and it was exceptionally underwhelming. $70 per person for a spread that was slightly better than continental breakfast... drinks were $18 a piece, no carving station, and maybe 3-4 options each for breakfast and lunch. Bill was almost $500 for 5 people for a buffet..... yikes. The brunch buffet used to be out of this world and it has fallen off a cliff.

We had a great dinner experience at Epoch. We went on whim, but were really overwhelmed and delighted by the service and the food. An experience that is hard to find in restaurants, really well done food and a great service team.

Oh my goodness! Our dining experience was perfect! The staff were friendly and attentive and knowledgeable about the food options. The meal was amazing!! We'll definitely return the next time we're in Exeter!!

Our server was slow though friendly. The brussel sprouts were undercooked and tough and I think you need a label that says sausages have pepper in them; my dad can't have pepper because of his dentures. The food, for the price, was so-so; nothing spectacular and certainly not in keeping with the photos online. My dad is old so he barely noticed, but I did.

I enjoyed a lovely evening at Epoch last night. I just love this place every time we go. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. The sauce was the perfect complement to the steak potatoes and broccolini. I would have liked a few more options on the menu. The cocktails were great. The server, Sean recommended a perfect wine pairing with my steak. Sean was an excellent server, personable, professional and very attentive. We will definitely be going back!
