Bidrage med feedbackThis place is now closed. I think they were owned/operated by the catering company next door, and they are still open but I guess they gave up on the restaurant. Too bad they had great food....
This place opened last year and they serve a fantastic Bison Chili with melted cheese on top and a cheddar jalapeno scone, yep I said CHEDDAR JALAPENO SCONE!It's simply delicious; not tomato-y at all, it has a rich, dark broth with massive chunks of Bison meat, which are soft and very meaty, as well as black beans, onions and corn, topped with melted cheese - yes!The cheddar scone has a nice little spicy kick to it.They serve local beer as well - other items include Chicken and Waffles, Ribs, Burgers, and they have great rustic style fries - although I have to admit I haven't tried too many other things because I keep going back to that tasty CHILI!If you are in South Etobicoke, its worth the short drive out to Horner avenue. This place is not cheap, it's $10 for the chili. BUT this is quality food, not fast food. And the bowl of chili sticks to your ribs real good; you will be full and content in the end, so pay the **** $10 and feast!
I was sold from day one when they started posting pictures of their menu! I have been a few times and each time am more and more impressed with the food. I have had the following: Pulled pork sliders, Watermelon salad, Ribs, Chicken w/waffle and the hamburger. I rate all of them 5* BUT the chicken today was fantastic! Highly recommended! An asset to the brownsline area!!!
Both my wife and I have dined here on several occasions. Simple, tasty food. Portions are not large but the quality is excellent. Although they look a bit on the small side, they are filling which certainly speaks to the quality of ingredients. Highly recommend a visit here as you will not be disappointed. Congratulations to all involved here - keep up the good work!
Since this place is right by my house, we couldn't wait to try it out. Why? The neighbourhood is a bit dull, and most of the bars and restaurants around here are boring, dated, and full of date-time drunks. West City Snack Bar looked so much different at first glance. With beautiful decor, a nice environment, and a small but good looking menu, made it look like the neighbourhood was changing. We stopped in for lunch, and checked out, like I said, their fairly small menu. We ended up going with the burgers and a side order of fries. Surprisingly, these 2 burgers, 2 fries, and a bottle of water came to just over $30. The food was pretty good, but it wasn't great. The burger patties are super small, about half the size of the bun, and they came with one small onion ring for garnish. The fires were fantastic though. All in all, it was a pretty good experience, but for the location, it is just way too expensive. It just seemed like whoever opened this place did not do their research as to who lives in the area. They serve downtown food, for downtown prices, in a neighbourhood that probably wont go for it.
