50's Diner - Essex

Love, love this diner! The volunteers that work there are so nice and make this our fav spot for breakfast! The prices are decent and the coffee is great! Their omelette is delicious and always the way I order it. You get bacon that looks like bacon and not paper thin strips of cardboard looking bacon. It is bright, and cheery and brings you back to the "good ole days" I compliment the girls on their cooking and service all the time and leave so full and ready for the day after. Don't expect to be waited on, you place your order and get your selected beverage yourself and they bring the food to your table. I certainly don't mind doing this, the portions are big and the food is 10/10. Wish other places had the value of this diner. Just remember the help are volunteers and do this on their own time. If you are the type that needs a waitress this diner is not for you.

Wow. What a cozy nice local atmosphere! Step back in time and love the decor and great seating! 2 breakfasts with a tip for $15 can't be beat in today's age. Oh and loved the dill seasoned home fries.

We were on a day trip to visit the Canadian Heritage and Transportation Museum and this restaurant is right on site.Of course it is done up like a 50's diner, and although it is ""uthentic" it's a little underwhelming. No mini jukeboxes on each table, and the only one they appeared to have you couldn't use. It's a fast sit-down, so order your food and then have a seat. They do play a bunch of music, that can be heard from the outside when you walk into the museum. There is a large outdoor patio, although it didn't appear to be open on the day we went. The prices are reasonable, but don't expect great food. It is your basic cafeteria type food, hotdogs, hamburgers, sandwiches etc. Loved the fries, they were definitely my favourite part. Quick service, and they didn't have a problem with us ordering shortly before they closed. If you need something to eat, don't be afraid to grab something but if you are looking for something a little more flavourful and can wait, I would recommend waiting and going into the town of Kingsville and eating there.

Stopped here for lunch one day, nothing fancy, we had the special of the day, chili dogs and fries. was average.

Great breakfast and lunches, service is bit different being all volunteers but is speedy enough, the food is good and reasonablypriced
