Escalante Farmers' Market

I drove all the way from Los Angeles, California, to Utah, which took about eight and a half hours. We arrived after the front desk had closed, but the staff was incredibly accommodating and left us instructions on how to access our cabin with a note outside. The location is beautiful and peaceful, and I will definitely be returning. Everyone was very friendly and provided us with plenty of information about the hiking trails in the area.

This cozy little restaurant features an attached hiking gear shop. You can choose to dine indoors or outdoors. On our first night, we enjoyed pizza and draft beer, which we found quite tasty. The following evening, we tried the spicy chicken sandwich and the apple walnut salad, and they were absolutely fantastic!

Wow! This pizza is incredible! Who would have thought that such fantastic flavors could come from a small restaurant in Escalante? I tried the Moody Creek pizza, and it was amazing. I just wish I had taken a picture before I finished it!

A really nice recommendation from the folks at the front desk of our accommodations in Escalante. Escalante Outfitters boasts an extensive menu of pizzas and toppings with an impressive lineup of tantalizing salads. Their beer selection was pretty large, considering the location, with a nice array of Utah microbrews! They've got a lovely outdoor patio with lots of tables. We not only got to enjoy our food, but also a beautiful panorama of the desert vista, including an unexpected rainbow after an evening storm! Prices are very reasonable we paid roughly $16 for a 16 inch pizza that fed us for two full meals. Beer, coffee and dessert was also reasonably priced. Enjoy a hearty meal with friendly, hometown service at this Escalante gem! The attached outdoor recreation shop is also worth a stop, in case you've forgotten any gear for your outdoor adventures.
