Bidrage med feedbackI am a regular for their dim sum, served every Sunday from 10am to 2pm, and have been for years. There is only one other place in Des Moines to get dim sum (Chop Stix on Merle Hay in Johnston), and the food, selection and physical space are ALL better at Kwong Tung. Love their pearl balls, fried tofu, steamed spareribs, rolled rice wrappers, shu mais, and sesame balls. No carts, as there are a Bo Lings in KC, due to smaller menu and smaller space. Service is slow at times, so I try to arrive before noon, if possible, too beat the after-church crowd.
This restaurant advertises itself to be open on Mondays, but when we went there, the restaurant was closed. This was no way to create patronage.
I've only been here for dim sum but its the best in the city if you crave dimsum. It doesn't compare to the bigger cities but we are lucky to have this in des moines. I will need to try their menu sometime but its the spot for dim sums on weekends hint... they sell it during the week too if you know what you want. I just found that out recently
Great place, great food. Owners take pride in service and food they make and serve. Always fresh and made to order. I keep going back.
Lack of updated interior aside, this place is great for dim sum!
