The coffee machine was malfunctioning and ended up burning my hand. When it came time to pay, their card machine was down, and after trying multiple cards, they accused us of not having any money. Eventually, they managed to fix the machine, but we were left waiting for 15 minutes just to sort it out. Maybe lunch is better, but I would strongly advise against having breakfast here. It doesn’t even deserve to be called a buffet. I would be really disappointed if this was the breakfast offered at a hotel where I was paying to stay.

However, we encountered a major issue when we tried to pay; four of our bank cards were rejected. As Irish residents living in Oregon, we typically have no problems with our cards. The staff had to call the general manager, who spoke with me over the phone. It was quite unprofessional when he questioned whether we simply didn’t have the funds or if it was a technical issue on our end. This was a totally inappropriate assumption. We had to wait 5-10 minutes for the issue to be resolved, and there was essentially no sincere apology for the inconvenience or acknowledgment of the inappropriate question about our finances. The management’s handling of the situation was embarrassing, especially given the subpar quality of the breakfast. Having worked in hospitality before, I believe such issues should be addressed immediately and with sensitivity. It seems like there might be some serious operational problems at this restaurant.
