We had such a wonderful experience here this afternoon. They were not planning on opening until 2:00 PM but we showed up at 12:45 and they did not hesitate to seat and serve us. My wife and I have been driving past this property for years commenting that someone needed to put a restaurant there. Finally. The service was absolutely perfect. They were knowledgeable, informative, and friendly. They serve Wendlandt beer, local wines, and the best aqua de jamaica my wife (Mexican, born and raised) has ever had. I had the aqua chile verde. It was very different from what I am used to getting in Baja and in California but also very good. My wife had the Oaxaca tamale which we both liked a lot. This tamale is not really big enough for most people to eat as a meal by itself but if your table orders several things and you all share, it works out. The decor is interesting but I would suggest they upgrade the tables (they are the wooden Coca Cola tables you see at a lot of taco shops). The floors are dirt with scattered hay (which is common in this area). The restrooms are new and clean. The prices are higher than the local taco shops but in the correct range for a quality restaurant using imported ingredients in the Valle de Guadalupe. We will be back.
