Bidrage med feedbackI feel bad that it's taken so long to write this review because we really enjoyed our meal at Gastronomical Burgers. We were staying locally and wanted to try the restaurant after reading the reviews. We weren't disappointed. The restaurant wasn't full when we arrived,...but the ambience was perfect lots of candles and music at just the right volume. So far so good, but what about the food? We shared the wonderfully dramatic starter to make sure we had room for the main course. We both chose burgers and they were excellent perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The accompaniments and relishes were also superb. We don't normally have deserts but they were so tempting we couldn't resist. Quite honestly, I can't even remember what my husband had (although he said it was amazing) because I was so blown away by the Marguerita ice-cream with Tequila. OMG it was so, so good. Please, if you choose this *drink the tequila*, don’t pour it over the ice-cream. It was absolutely sublime and we might have to travel down to London/Hertfordshire again soon just so I can taste it again. The service throughout was perfect charming and attentive, with a bit of personality. Chris made a point of greeting us as we left, which I understand he tries to do with all diners. All in all this was a wonderful (excellently priced) dining experience in a great setting with charming people; what's not to love?
Hadn’t been here for a while... I had a craving for a proper burger and it did the job! Two repeat diners and a first time guest all enjoyed their meals. The volcano for starters, bacon double cheese burger followed by the créme brûlée. All...were done well again. Nice music and the chef and staff greeted us as we left. Thank you!
We made a reservation for four people at the restaurant. The room was quiet and not too busy. The staff, who were young and friendly, were following Covid restrictions. I started with a delicious strawberry iced daiquiri. Both of us ordered burgers, which were cooked to order and handmade. The menu is simple and straightforward. The burger I received was piled high with bacon, cheese, relish, lettuce, and fried onions. It was very tasty, although a little under seasoned for my preference. Chips need to be ordered as a side, but they were hot, crispy, and delicious. We didn't have room for dessert, but there was a nice selection available. The restaurant is a bit pricey and has an unassuming setting, normally serving farmhouse breakfast. The chef was a finalist on Master Chef and operates this place on weekends. If you don't mind paying more for a burger and chips, it's definitely worth a visit.
My three colleagues and I visited this excellent restaurant last night, unsure of what to expect. We had been recommended by a friend of a friend who didn't provide many details, but we decided to give it a try. The waiter suggested the volcano as a starter, and it was fantastic! We were all very excited by this point, having had a couple of glasses of wine. The burgers, despite the restaurant's name, exceeded our expectations. One friend even said it was the best burger he had ever had. Another temporarily set aside his vegan diet to share in the delicious experience. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, and we will definitely be returning. We left satisfied and full, but I couldn't resist trying the tempting dessert - a brownie with ice cream that left me speechless. Thank you to Chef Chris for a wonderful evening, and I can't wait to come back! Dan
I have been here several times now and I can honestly say the food is amazing.. the burgers are spot on... the baked Camembert starter is so delicious. The chips are also a firm favourite there is not one thing on the menu that I...can complain about. The service is great the food is amazing and it’s local. What more can a girl want there is something for everyone. Compliments to the chef..
