Bidrage med feedbackWow, wow, wow. Just you wait until you try the NEW onion rings at Islands. About 4 weeks we brought the whole crew in for Happy Hour munchies and drinks (love those Mai Tais! . On top of pigging out on fries, sliders, wings etc, we decided to give the onion rings a try. Like the movie, they were GONE in 60 seconds. Cut to last night when I went to Islands in Carmel Mountain. Couldn 't wait to order the onion rings and told my friends to do the same. Blah!!!! Wha ' happened?? Now, it 's tonight and mom says she wants to head back Islands. Well, I ate there last night but what the hell. She orders the onion rings and I tell her how bad they were last night. They show up and BAM!! It 's those AWESOME onion rings again. Wha???!!! I ask Dannii our server what is the deal? Turns out this is a test store and we 're the lucky recipients of these fried rings of MAGIC. OK. So what else are you guys keeping from me? Turns out, I don 't care! As long as I have more onion rings. To the rest of the Islands world...just wait until you clamp your mouth on these bad boys. My wife has said forever that Islands is the best place for some hot fries and a frosty mug of beer. I love the tacos, burgers, salads etc too. But be sure to ask your local Islands when they are gonna get these new onion rings. You 'll thank me....and them. Thx Dannii!
Haven't been here in years, decided to come today. Very impressed! Very good selection of beers, they had my favorite IPA I was very happy about that. Ordered the Maui burger, it was delicious. The fries were super yummy and very crunchy which I love. The onion rings were incredible, probably one of the best onion rings I've had. Service was great, no complaints. The only thing they could change is they should really make fresh guacamole. I had guacamole on my burger and it tasted like guac you can get at a grocery store. Wasn't a fan of it, but otherwise everything was great. Will definitely come back.
Just sit right back and you 'll hear a tale, A tale of a fateful trip That started from this tropic port Aboard this tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailing man, The skipper brave and sure. Five passengers set sail that day For a three hour tour, a three hour tour. The weather started getting rough, The tiny ship was tossed, If not for the courage of the fearless crew The Minnow would be lost, the Minnow would be lost. The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle With Gilligan The Skipper too, A millionaire and his wife, A movie star The Professor and Mary Ann, Here on Gilligan 's Isle. Full Version Continues: So this is the tale of our castaways, They 're here for a long, long time, They 'll have to make the best of things, It 's an uphill climb. The first mate and his Skipper too, Will do their very best, To make the others comfortable, In their tropic island nest. No phone, no lights, no motor car, Not a single luxury, Like Robinson Crusoe, It 's primitive as can be. So join us here each week my friend, You 're sure to get a smile, From seven stranded castaways, Here on Gilligan 's Isle.
A little disturbing to see the employees makeshift break room table with sweaters, dirty dishes and plastic bags laying around for me to stare at during my meal. The food was just not good compared to other locations. The fries were all stuck together and a few of them had a fishy taste. The impossible burger was mediocre, but when we had it at the Carlsbad location it was phenomenal.
As you can see I do love Islands. What made tonight great and unique was meeting our server Matthew. If you have the opportunity to come to this location and request a waiter, I highly recommend Matt. He's such a happy guy. He took the time to take our order and made sure that it came out excellent. Thank you for making our evening pleasant after a long day of work. Kudos to the manager and cooks as well!
