Never crowded, but they don't have the same as other shop-rites
This grocery store does its best. But, it’s tired. It doesn’t inspire you to go home and make something new. Produce is utilitarian. Low ceilings. Could use a refresh. But, they carry what you need for day to day life. No more no less.
Very nice Shoprite. Older store that could use a makeover, but it's fine and the staff is very helpful and pleasant. Parking can be difficult during peak hours. Plenty of shopping carts and they keep them near the store, not scattered all over the parking lot.
Slipping is the word I have for the Shop Rite of Emerson, There are some very nice people whom say hello as they recognize me for the past 20 years living here. But there is a majority of frown filled faces , non chalone and disinterested workers here. They closed the pharmacy. They have no real hot food to speak of. If you go to Rochelle Park or Englewood Shop Rites, you think you have gone to Disneyland! Hot foods, selections, great presentation, a Nut shop Englewood) and on and on! And those two just happen to be 24 hour shops where you would expect some fall off particularly in the late evenings and overnight, but these store are still humming with cleaning, restocking and pretty cordial people even at 2:00 am in the morning! I will still shop in Emerson to save time but now as in today even, I will drive the 20 or so minutes to Englewood to get the fresh baked Jerk chicken or great fried chicken! Oh and the Nut shop as well. They are bigger and have more self help and manned cashiers . Never a crazy wait here. Emerson management should comparison shop the Englewood and Rochelle Park or even the Paramus Shop Rites and see where they can freshen up their presentations and stores to maintain and gain more customers.
