Bidrage med feedbackWe have not started in the Val hotel, but often visit for breakfast or lunch. Weekends are usually busy and festive, sometimes quieter if you're there earlier. We love the food and the relaxed atmosphere. We always bring our cameras for walkabout, lovely foto opportunities around the hotel. Also, bring your old pairs of shoes and throw them over the telephone wire, it's a thing!
Wonderful little bar, definitely a bucket list item. When there, go off the beaten track and go see the whiskey train monument.
Went there last week for the 1st time and fell in love. Couldn't wait to take my wife this week and show her. We arrived and she loved it. Sat down and ordered lunch. Started Making plans to book a room for a weekend. An hour and 25 minutes later we couldn't get anyone to tell us where our food was. It seems they forgot to put our order in the kitchen and then proceeded to lie to us. In fact the manager spend 30 minutes telling us they just have to plate our food. Left hungry. If you're busy, don't lie to people.
Great local (ok, only local) Restaurant and pub. Good food and friendly service. The service speed matches the relaxed atmosphere of Val town. Worth a visit if you pass this area.
The blessed silence of this space! Brought up many happy childhood memories of simple farm life. Restaurant fare is simple and very tasty. Well worth the drive in order to recharge your spirit (and visit the Anglican chapel)
