The terrace is beautiful in the sun during the noon. Super friendly staff. The spaghetti (very big plate)...and Schnitzel were both really good. Also great place for just a drink!
After six hours of skiing without lunch we thought of a beer and a quick bite. The interior is tiny, but the kitchen works fast! I had my favorite Tyroleans treating a Germknoedel or hydrated yeast dumping with a fruit...reserve filling served in melted butter or vanilla sauce and embroidered with powder sugar and poppy seeds. One of my friends enjoyed a cheese soup. It was wonderful to sit outside and enjoy a cool down before you go back to the hotel at the end of a day skiing.
Visited the house lead during skiing in February 2017 after it was recommended to me and was stopped for lunch. Really beautiful, small cottage near the Hartkaiserbahn valley station on the blue run. Nice food and drink and the terrace is bathed in the sun at 12 o'clock when we stopped. Would like to visit if we are next bac We will be back next time in Ellmau.
Vote with review already by jacw2000. Sit outside with 2 x double deck chairs and can catch the sun from about 1145 to about 1330 before it disappears back behind the trees. Apple Strudel, Gluhwein, Skiwasser, Schnitzel with Pomme Frittes and Currywurst...with Pomme Frittes; all excellent and good prices/values for money. While you order after eating, it will be delivered to you. Most entertaining are watching others come out the section of the pistes while enjoying a refreshment or two and simply spending too much time here when you get back on the slope itself! Who rises and never passes, is missing!
Big terrace at foot of slope on the way down to Ellmau Snow was heavy and getting slushy by mid afternoon but I managed not to wipe out, much to the disappointment of the terrace audience. You go inside to order food; but if you...just want to get drinks, there is a little window into the bar at the end of the terrace. An old man, or possibly a gnome, dwells therein and serves the booze. Large beer 3.30 Mineral water 2.00 We resisted the temptation to order coffee and cakes even though the next table was full of Germans doing exactly that. A very pleasant place surprising to see it offering self service as it feels more like a waiter service joint.
