Bidrage med feedbackMy colleague and I had a beer and flight each, it was delicious! Elkins is a small town but this place has some big flavor in their beer. The bartenders were very nice and even gave us some great food recommendations since they don?t serve food in house there. Highly recommend to start your night out!
I had been dying to try the Alpenglow. I had to go to Elkins for my 3rd olds doctors appointment and decided to stop in and try the two sours. The place was so easy to find and the inside was really cool and visibly clean. The lady working was so so nice! She gave my son one of the coasters with the trout, she drew them and showed me some of her others. They were so good and I?m glad my son didn?t see the bear one or he would have thrown a short fit! I came home with agrowler of the Alpenglow and definitely plan on making another trip with my husband and no child : Awesome service and they had some really cool gifts, hope to purchase something soon.
Fantastic beer. We love the tap room. I wish I could be a regular here.
Big Timber Brewing has unique charm with decor true to it's brand name. Staff was friendly and attentive. No food is available unless a food truck is outside, with exception of assorted chips, small bag for $1. Parking is limited to mainly streetside. Not sure how the adjacent store feels about parking in their lot. I always try to go local in regards to beer selection when traveling through or living in an area. Tried a flight; Mexican Lager, sorrento peppers and beer, seemed borderline racist in its name just because of peppers, I don't believe that was intentional, I've just never had lagers from Mexico with peppers....eh.....I wanted to like it....pass. (I think it could make part of a great chickenmarinade though). Lager Joe...Guatemala is close to my heart, but this coffee lager ran from my taste buds...pass...Lime Gose....not too bad, but not too good. I actually took the gose and the Mexican lager, did a 40/60 mix, decent. Hazyipa.....respectable ipa. Took home a 4 pack of IPA Experiment #16, also respectable. Beer tasting is subjective though. Deductions for overall lack of activities or interactiveness in the brewery. No games or ways to pass time that I saw.The seating area is intimate. No music was playing. It was daytime, so I'll reserve full criticism. The environment just felt sterile overall. The uniqueness of the brand was lost in the similarity with every other microbrewery out there. The beer wasn't extra ordinary. Or, maybe it was and th as t was the issue. Hmm. Also, sterile environment, but not necessarily clean. The top shelf growlers on display up high have a healthy layer of dust. It appeared everything withinarms reach was clean though, including glassware. Will continue to buy Big Timber occassionally at the local store, I'm just not sure I'll return to this brewery. Perhaps I will revisit during the night when there is an event with foodtrucks and more people. If your reading this; go by, give it a try, and come up with your own
The service here is immaculate and the beer is even better. Even if you don't like beer they have a beer here for you. So many different varieties and they are always experimenting with flavors. They always out do themselves. They only use the best hops as well and you can tell that by the first sip. You got kiddos well guess what they have a root beer that is out of this world as well. I can't wait for their new establishment to open by Gino's. They truly know what they are doing there. ?
