Bidrage med feedbackWe recently held an event for our company at Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery and were incredibly impressed. The service was fantastic and the location was absolutely beautiful! We give this venue top ratings for rooms, service, and location all receiving a perfect 5 out of 5.
My family and I live about 90 miles away from this restaurant, but we decided to check it out. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful grounds and overall experience. The restaurant is pet-friendly, so make sure to bring a leash and bags. The wine tasting is done by flight, where you get to choose 5 different wines that are served on a numbered tray. Our hostess/waitress, Heather, was amazing and very attentive throughout our visit. We ordered a delicious meal from the restaurant, but be careful with the meatloaf - it's spicy! After lunch, we went to the Tipsy Toad for a tasting of the rum and whiskey they make on the property. They also have a shop with local artists' items and a delicious moonshine barbecue sauce that we couldn't resist buying. As we walked around, we saw peacocks and other animals roaming the grounds. They even have cabins for nightly rentals, making it a perfect spot for a wedding. Overall, it was a fantastic day and definitely worth the trip. Food/Drinks: Excellent, Service: 5, Location: 5.
Our group of 12 felt the most unwelcome and awkward that any of us have felt before at an establishment. It was our family members 79th birthday and we all traveled an hour to go to this lunch. The second we arrived, they asked if we had a reservation (we didn 't, but we did call beforehand and nobody mentioned that when we were inquiring . After that, they said we would have to sit six and six at separate tables. Then they eventually said we could sit together but we couldn 't order from the regular menu (we had already previewed the menu prior . We had a few choices and we did it, but the attitude from the staff was, we really don 't want you here, but we will do it anyway. Our server was friendly enough about half way through as we were waiting for our food, but it took a lot of time for her to get there! Food was decent. Small portions (other than the $35 steak option . We spent a ton of money and tip for the 12 of us and then went to the grocery store and all ate snacks and hour later when we didn 't get our fill (except the steak people! . My salad with shrimp was $19 and contained THREE shrimp. Literally 3 shrimp the added fee for shrimp was $8. We were planning a huge girls trip and this experience changed our minds. We don 't want to feel that unwelcomness again. Food drinks: If you have a party of more than 8, you have a six item list you can choose from. Noteworthy details: If you have a party of more than 8, beware. Just call they have an attitude that they are not a fan of large parties and treat you accordingly. We had the absolute best time here! The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable Mitch and Michelle in particular. I would highly recommend adding it to the list of to-dos close by Wilmington!
