Big Dan's - Elizabethton

My wife and I ordered the BBQ chicken plate and we both thought it was exactly what we were craving. It was delicious and beautifully presented! I recommend trying the mustard sauce for an extra kick, but it's also fantastic on its own. As for the sides, if you don’t get the baked beans, you’re definitely missing out—they're on a whole new level that most beans just can't match. Honestly, I could go on about it, but I’m getting really hungry just thinking about it. This place is definitely worth a visit! I can't wait to try the ribs!

If you're in search of authentic home-style BBQ, look no further—this is the spot! Without a doubt, it's the best grill in East Tennessee. I completely forgot to snap a photo when our food arrived because we dived right in. You absolutely cannot miss the potato salad; it's phenomenal. With Big Dan himself preparing our meal in the kitchen, we felt the love and history infused in every bite. Seriously—this place is a must-visit!

The burnt ends and ribs were quite tasty, though the portion of the burnt ends was a bit small. The chicken was decent. The potato salad was good, but the mac and cheese and collard greens could use some improvement. The service was excellent. Overall, it's a solid BBQ spot.

We had a family event and decided to get Dan's pulled pig to have sandwiches. Everyone who had the BBQ said it was very good. We have the regular and hot sauces for people to choose. While most of the regular ones who wanted hot more. We plan to repeat this on the 4th but get more so that people can have some as leftovers. If you order BBQ to go and need to be more than 5 pounds safe, give Dan's call about 5 days before picking up, so they have enough for everyone.

My family and I have been going to Big Dan’s for over 5 years, we’ve never had a bad experience. We know Dan personally and he’s really good guy and has a great restaurant and friendly staff. The food is always great. One of my favorite places to eat.
