Portillo's Hot Dogs - Elgin

All Portillos restaurants are pretty standard nowadays. They still can throw down. The Burgers are always on point. Sometimes they can be a little on the warm side, but overall, still pretty good. The bar area here is similar to all the rest, they always gotta get a manager to pour the beer but the wait is really short. The frosty glasses are unique to Portillos, averaging between 15-16 ounces. The decor is nice, lots of old antiques and stuff, lots of neon. An older Portillos employee stopped at our table and had a nice conversation with us, asked how everything was, and this made us feel good deep down inside our souls. Shout out to that guy. Good experience overall. Definitely stop by, and don?t wait in the drive thru lanes, that?s just straight crazy. Thumbs up. ??

If you live in the chicago area, surely you?ve heard of portillos. I?ll be honest, when I moved here 7 years ago, I didn?t get the hype. I mean the drive thru was always crazy long, the Italian beef was good and all but not anything to write home about. The chicago dogs were good with a nice snap to them but hey I could find that at a handful of other places. For me, it seemed like the longer I lived in chicago, the mote I enjoyed portillos. And THEN I tried the chocolate cake. That was the moment when I BELIEVED THE HYPE!! Head in there and enjoy a nice meal and end it with the best cake in Chicagoland.

Was looking for a classic Italian Beef. I wasn 't disappointed. The sandwich was flavorful and wet . Just what I was looking for. Fries could have been served hot and even though I ordered to eat in it was served to go. That aside I will be back.

Portillo?s is always a hit. Great cheeseburgers, hotdogs, fries and shakes. An instant classic. There?s a reason the drive through is always packed 24/7. This location is always clean and has a nice friendly staff, the food always hits the spot. I would definitely recommend getting a strawberry or chocolate cake shake with whatever you order.

Do you have to check this? in the mood for diner eating. inside looks like a diner from the 70-80s. great food! super busy, but just wait a minute for my eating. would definitely recommend!
