Golden Corral Buffet Grill - Elgin

Went Sunday for Breakfast and it was NOT what it use to be. Baked beans, corn, Tacos, Broccoli on the Buffet at 9am. I believe this location will be closed soon. Interior needs a lot of work and they have given up on the outside.

I came here on Fathers day with my family. I am giving this restaurant a 5 star, not because of the food but because the waiter Tony was outstanding with his service. As I watched him pick up dinner plates from the tables and served beverages, his work ethics were amazing. He was polite, professional, and clearly a hard worker.

Food was very bland even for a buffet. Omelettes during breakfast was VERY watery. Borderline inedible. French toast was dry and over cooked. Sausage was okay at best, try and stick to bacon for a meat. Stayed for lunch and much of the same. Mashed Potatoes were gross, chicken was slimy and meatloaf was very bad as well. Pot Roast was okay. Try and stay that way.

Food was great! The popcorn shrimp were fresh and not oily or fishy. The turkey was spot on! And pretty much tried a little of everything and was great. Staff was friendly and the server always came to check up on our drinks at the right time. Me and my family grabbed 3 rounds of food and finished with some bread pudding and ice cream. Really satisfying Sunday lunch

We took a bunch of the family for Christmas Eve. The food was old and cold. Selection and quality has really gone down the past 3 years. The desert buffet was less than half of what it used to be as well as the salad bar. Very disappointing. We won't be back.
